About Coerver Futures

Coerver Futures was born from a simple observation: girls in Richmond and Kingston didn't have the same access to elite-level technical training as boys. Our journey began with a commitment to use the world-renowned Coerver Method to bridge this gap, creating a dedicated pathway for female players to grow, excel, and stay in the game.

Since our founding, we have worked tirelessly to create an environment where skill development and confidence go hand-in-hand. From our initial pilot sessions to becoming a Community Interest Company, we've remained steadfast in our mission to empower girls through football. Our history is one of breaking barriers and building a community where every female player is seen, challenged, and supported on their unique footballing journey.

Why Coerver Futures?

The Problem
A structural injustice hidden in plain sight
  • Girls are 40% less likely than boys to take part in regular sport by age 16.
  • Dropout rates for girls aged 11–14 are roughly double those of boys in grassroots football.
  • Costs of facilities, club fees and kit price out many girls in Richmond and Kingston.
  • Fewer than 10% of qualified football coaches in England are women.

The issue is not that girls don't want to play. It's that the current system — financial, structural, cultural and institutional — is not built for them.

The Opportunity
Why now is the moment
  • A cultural shift after Euro 2022 has made women's football visible and aspirational for girls.
  • The women's game is growing structurally, with more school partnerships and women's teams.
  • In Richmond and Kingston, no one is currently joining the dots between schools, clubs and families.

There is a narrow but real window — around the next 2–3 years — to turn this momentum into lasting participation.

Why Coerver Futures?
Why this organisation can succeed
  • Uses the Coerver method, a globally respected player development system used in 40+ countries.
  • Builds on existing relationships with St Richard Reynolds Catholic College and NPL Youth FC.
  • Operates as a Community Interest Company, legally locked to community benefit.
  • Led by people with deep local knowledge of Richmond and Kingston.

Coerver Futures is designed to change the system so that every girl who wants to play can find her way into the game and stay in it.
